Bring Sleepwalk To Your Town
We need your help. Our movie, Sleepwalk with Me, premieres at the end of August. It’s a comedy written and directed by Mike Birbiglia and starring him also, with Lauren Ambrose and Carol Kane, plus cameos by some of your favorite stand-up comedians–Marc Maron, Kristen Schaal, Wyatt Cenac, Jesse Klein, and lots more. It’s brought to you by Ira Glass and the folks from This American Life.
So far we’ve won a big award at Sundance, brought down the house at SXSW, and have had lots of success on the indie film circuit. But any small indie film has a hard time getting booked into theaters, and Sleepwalk is a small indie film. This is the part where we need your help. We want you to have the chance to see the movie on the big screen and we want to enlist you in our campaign to get it shown in your town.
On the upcoming screenings page, you can find the list of 101 theaters where Sleepwalk is currently booked. If your town isn’t on the list, or if you live in the suburbs and it’s hard to get to the Music Box in Chicago, or the IFC Center in Manhattan, if you live in L.A. but nowhere near the Nuart (west of the 405), if you’re outside DC far from the E Street or near San Francisco and don’t want the hassle of driving into the city, you don’t have to take that lying down. Below is a list of theaters that run indie films, with their phone numbers, email addresses, and twitter handles. Call them, email them, tweet at them with the hashtag #BringSleepwalk. Tell them to book Sleepwalk with Me ASAP. (Note: you can ask ANY theater to book the film. That’s just a list of theaters that regularly book films from our distributor IFC. So if your favorite theater isn’t there, still ask them.)
Thanks for your help!
